🍗温かい感謝祭が、一瞬で血まみれの祭りに
これは観るしかないやろ！
Netflixの新着に出てきた瞬間、「あ、これ絶対観るやつやん」って思った。
だってジャンルがホラーで、しかも殺人鬼もの。
わくわくしかしない。 きっとエリーも好きなはず。早く一緒に観たくてウズウズ。観るのを我慢していた。
感謝祭？そんなに詳しくないけど、まあいいや。ホラーに細かい予習は不要。ホラーに限らず予習はしないけど。
でも気になったから一応調べたら――アメリカでは11月の第4木曜に家族で七面鳥食べて「ありがと〜」ってする日らしい。 翌日の金曜はブラックフライデーで大セール。
なるほど、それをホラーにぶち込むって、監督天才か。
🫀最初から心臓に悪い
物語は、アメリカの小さな町の感謝祭から始まる。 みんな浮かれて、七面鳥やらパイやらで盛り上がってる。
……のは最初だけ。ある出来事で空気が一変、え、ちょっと待って!? ってなる。
「冷静になってー！」って画面に向かって叫びたくなるような展開。怖いわー。
どうしてそうなるん？不思議。
そして1年後の感謝祭、またもや不穏な空気が漂い始める。 仮面をつけた謎の人物が人を襲っていくんだけど、誰が犯人なのか全く読めない。
しかも「あ、この人怪しいな」と思ったやつほどシロっていうミスリード地獄。笑
🎞️監督の悪ふざけ？←あ、褒めてます
さすが！グロ描写のやりすぎ感、最高。
ホラーなのにBGMが妙にノリノリで、観客を油断させにくる。 冒頭の人混みシーンなんて、現実でもありそうで怖すぎ。
そして個人的MVPは「殺人鬼、猫に餌やるシーン」。 え、猫には優しいんかい！って吹いた。
こういうシュールな瞬間があると、逆に怖さが際立つんよね。
🎭グロOKなら100％楽しめる
スラッシャー好きにはたまらない。斬る、刺す、叩く…もう全部盛り。
「そこまでやる!?」っていうレベルで大袈裟にやってくれるのが気持ちいい。 グロ耐性ゼロの人はたぶん食事中は無理。
感謝祭の文化を知らなくても問題なし。 むしろ「こんな日にこんなことするんか…」っていうギャップが面白い。
😆何回も観ちゃった
面白すぎて、かにかにとも観たし、その後また観たし、病院の待ち時間にも観た。 実家に行ったときも観て、もはや生活のBGM状態。
今の私の“イチオシ映画”は間違いなくこれ。
ホラー好きで、ちょっとグロも大丈夫な人はぜひ観てほしい。 感謝祭っていう温かいイベントが、一瞬で血まみれの祭りに変わるその瞬間を、あなたにも味わってほしい。

🦃 A Night More Terrifying Than Turkey — Thanksgiving

This was a must-watch for me!
The moment it popped up on Netflix’s “New Releases,” I thought, “Yep, that’s mine.”
I mean—horror and a masked killer? Come on. There was no way I wasn’t watching this.
I just knew Ellie would love it too. I actually held off on watching it alone so we could see it together (self-control: level 100).
Honestly, I don’t know much about Thanksgiving… and who cares?
You don’t study for horror movies—you just dive in.
Still, curiosity got me, so I looked it up:
Apparently, in the U.S., it’s on the fourth Thursday of November—a day when families gather to eat turkey and say thanks.
Then comes Black Friday—the shopping bloodbath.
So… turning that into an actual bloodbath? Genius move, director.
😱 A Bad Start for the Heart
It begins with a cheerful Thanksgiving scene in a small American town.
Everyone’s having fun—turkey, pies, the whole thing.
And then… something happens.
The mood flips.
One second you’re smiling, and the next you’re yelling at the screen,
“No, no, no, don’t do that!!”
My heart couldn’t handle it.
A year later, on the next Thanksgiving, a masked figure returns—and this time, people start dying.
You think you’ve spotted the killer, but no.
Everyone suspicious turns out innocent.
Classic misdirection. I fell for every one. 😂
🎬 The Director’s “Evil Sense of Humor” (I mean that as a compliment)
Okay… the gore? Outrageous. I loved it.
The upbeat soundtrack during brutal scenes?
Chef’s kiss. It makes you too comfortable, then—bam!
My personal MVP moment?
When the killer feeds a cat.
Excuse me?! You’re a murderer, but you have a soft spot for cats??
That scene made me laugh way too hard.
But that’s the thing—those weird, almost tender moments make the horror hit harder.
🔪 If You Can Handle Gore, You’ll Love It
Slasher fans will eat this up.
Cutting, stabbing, smashing—it’s all there, and it’s so over the top that it’s actually fun.
But fair warning: maybe don’t eat dinner while watching.
Even if you don’t know anything about Thanksgiving, you’ll still enjoy it.
In fact, the contrast between this warm family holiday and what unfolds is what makes it so creepy—and brilliant.

- The absurd combo: turkey + horror + family drama
- The killer is brutal… but nice to cats (yes, again)
- The ending—satisfying, but with just a hint of mystery

I’ve watched it with Kanikani, again later by myself, again while waiting at the hospital…
Even at my parents’ house.
It’s basically become my background movie at this point.
If you love horror and can handle a little blood, watch Thanksgiving.
You’ll never look at family dinners—or turkey—the same way again. 🍗💀
