Stopped by the Police?

This Is the Kind of Person Tomomi Is

I got stopped by the police.

Well… not exactly.

More like:

I’m somehow the type of person who gets stopped. 😂

This happened a long time ago.

And just so we’re clear,

I’m a completely normal girl. (…woman now maybe? 😂)

Nothing unusual.

If I walk down the street, nobody notices me.

I’m the type who blends into the background.

Totally ordinary.

Or so I thought.

⸻

🚓 Incident No.1: The Mystery Stop

One night, I was out driving.

I got sleepy, so I pulled over.

It was a legal place to stop.

No problems.

Everything was fine.

Then…

A police car appeared.

Wait.

Did I do something?

Was this place actually not okay?

My brain immediately went into panic mode.

The officer came over and said:

“Excuse me, may I see your driver’s license?”

Pure and innocent me answered:

“Sure!”

No suspicion.

No defense.

Zero caution. 😂

I handed it over.

A few minutes later:

“Thank you.”
“Please drive safely and have a good night.”

And that was it.

⸻

…What was that!?

I still don’t know.

Why me?

What were they checking?

I should have asked.

At that time I was:

100 out of 100 at being someone who never asks questions. 😂

Seriously.

If there had been a championship for “people who can’t ask,” I might have won.

⸻

For the record,

I have never done anything illegal.

I’m a very serious person.

Really.

Probably. 😂

⸻

🚓 Incident No.2: The Blanket Case

About ten years later.

I went to a convenience store with my daughter.

She went inside.

I stayed in the car.

The engine was off, it was cold, so I wrapped myself in a blanket.

Maximum winter mode.

Then…

Knock knock.

Someone tapped the window.

Police officer?

But this time I had experience.

Maybe it was fake.

Stay calm.

Think.

Ask first.

I opened the window slightly.

“What is it?”

Good.

First step completed.

The officer said:

“May I see your driver’s license?”

HERE WE GO AGAIN!! 😂

Round two!

But this time I was stronger.

I asked:

“Why?”

YES.

I SAID IT.

Personal growth. 😂

The officer replied:

“We are looking for a missing person.”

Me!?

Wait no.

Not me.

But I panicked for a second. 😂

He looked real.

Uniform seemed fine.

Okay.

License presented.

Then he started talking on the radio.

My brain:

“What?”
“Why?”
“Was it the blanket?”
“Do blankets look suspicious now?”

A few minutes later:

“Thank you very much.”

And he left.

Again.

No explanation.

No answers.

Still confused.

Maybe the blanket was the problem. 😂

And once again…

100 out of 100 at being unable to ask questions.

Perfect score.

⸻

🚔 Why Do Police Cars Make Me Nervous?

Since then, every time I see a police car…

I get nervous.

I haven’t done anything.

Nothing at all.

But my brain still goes:

“Everything’s okay, right?”

😂

So next time it happens, I have a plan.

I’ll ask why.

I’ll confirm their ID.

I’ll stay calm.

I’ll show them the improved version of me.

…Probably.

Maybe.

We’ll see. 😂

⸻

But really.

I’m normal.

Very normal.

Completely ordinary.

And somehow…

I still get stopped.

Maybe that’s just who Tomomi is. 😂

Anyway…

No more police checks, please.

Next time let’s just pass each other normally.

See you later.

Bye bye 🚓😂
