Maybe It’s Depression

I’m Struggling

It was my monthly appointment at the mental health clinic.

For the first time in a while, I clearly felt it.

“I’m tired.”

Not physically tired.

Just…

Heavy.

I didn’t want to do anything.

My body felt slow.

My mind was foggy.

After work, I would just lie down.

No energy for movies.

No motivation to write blog posts.

Even when I looked at my phone, nothing really stayed in my head.

Deep down I was thinking:

“This might be the kind that puts me back in bed again.”

And honestly…

That scared me.

⸻

When I entered the consultation room, I told my doctor immediately.

“Doctor, I’m struggling. I can’t do anything.”

He listened quietly and said:

“You were in a hypomanic state before. You’ve probably returned to normal.”

⸻

…Ah.

That.

⸻

Thinking back…

He might have been right.

Not long ago, I had energy.

I was moving a lot.

Shopping too much.

Staying up late and still functioning.

So maybe this wasn’t depression.

Maybe this was simply…

normal.

⸻

But honestly?

Normal is exhausting. 😂

Every time I think:

“Why is normal so hard?”

And then I realize:

“I’m doing the same cycle again.”

Hypomania.

Feeling great.

Then falling.

Again and again.

I still haven’t learned, have I? 😂

⸻

The doctor said:

“Let’s wait and watch for now.”

No medication changes.

Maybe because I wasn’t falling apart yet.

Maybe because it still looked manageable.

⸻

🦵My Knee Is Fine… But Now the Other Leg

I also had an orthopedic checkup recently.

The knee I had surgery on was fine.

That part was good.

But now the opposite leg is acting up.

Numbness.

Constant numbness.

Sometimes bad enough that I can’t sleep.

A strange mix of pain and tingling.

Heavy.

Sharp.

Annoying.

I kept thinking:

“What is this now?”

⸻

The doctor specialized in knees, so he said:

“It might be coming from your back.”

I got a referral to the surgeon who operated on my herniated disc years ago.

He also thought it might be nerve pain.

So I got medication.

⸻

That medicine…

It was strong.

The side effects hit hard.

Morning came and I couldn’t get up.

Sleepiness.

Dizziness.

My head felt like it was floating.

Getting out of bed became a challenge.

⸻

The doctor had said:

“Reduce it if the drowsiness is too strong.”

So I did.

And then…

It stopped working.

⸻

Excuse me?

What? 😂

If I take enough, I can’t function.

If I reduce it, it doesn’t help.

Choose your suffering, I guess. 😂

⸻

I ended up taking time off work just to let my body adjust.

Eventually the side effects eased.

But then the numbness relief felt weaker.

Again:

“Why?”

Honestly…

I have no idea anymore. 😂

⸻

🌧 Body and Mind Pull Each Other Down

Lately I’ve been thinking:

My body is kind of falling apart, isn’t it? 😂

Knees.

Back.

Nerve pain.

Sleep.

Bipolar disorder.

Something always seems to happen.

I know I’m not young anymore.

Some wear and tear is normal.

But mine feels like:

“Oh, now THIS part too!?”

Every few weeks. 😂

⸻

And when my body hurts,

my mind follows.

Pain makes me sad.

Lack of sleep makes me anxious.

It really reminds me that:

Mind and body are connected.

More than we realize.

⸻

🌱Still Moving Forward

I’m not ready to say:

“This is depression.”

Not yet.

But I do feel:

“Something might be wrong.”

So I want to slow down.

Take care.

Rest.

…Even though I’m terrible at resting. 😂

⸻

I’ve changed a little though.

The old me believed:

“If I can’t move, I’m useless.”

Now I try to think:

“Today is just a rest day.”

And somehow…

That feels kinder.

⸻

Bodies aren’t perfect.

Minds aren’t perfect either.

So I’ll adjust medication.

Rest when needed.

Accept help.

And keep going somehow.

That’s all I can do.

⸻

The thing I most want to tell my doctor is probably:

“Normal is really hard.”

😂

⸻

But maybe there’s something positive.

This time,

I noticed it earlier.

Before everything collapsed.

Maybe that means I’ve grown.

A little.

⸻

Rest.

Ask for help.

Don’t rush.

That’s my homework now.

⸻

See you again.

Before Silece.

Bye bye. 🌙💊🦵🌧️
